About the size of Manhattan, the densely forested North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean is one of the most isolated places in the world. Some of the last people untouched by modern civilisation live there, (noone knows how many people live there but experts guess about 300).
In 2004 a helicopter tried to survey the island and was attacked with stones and arrows. In 2006 two fishermen strayed too close and were killed. Since then the Indian government has imposed a 3 mile exlcusion zone around the island and has stopped all attempts to make contact.
