Scientists prolonged mice’ lives by 25% by stripping cells that cause aging

By programming senescent (ageing) cells to self-destruct when the mice are given a specific drug. The mice lived 25% longer, were less prone to cancer and had a greater drive to explore. The only negative effects were that without the senescent cells, wounds took longer to heal. A similar approach could be applied to humans in the future.
